Expansion of Daycare services
The Daycare Expansion Initiative aims to ensure universal access to high-quality daycare services, encompassing essential elements such as healthcare, balanced nutrition, safety, security, and learning through play. Recognizing children's vulnerability to health and developmental issues due to their dependence on adults, the initiative focuses on standardizing service provision, fostering multisector collaboration in daycare implementation (e.g., health, urban development, and social services), and enhancing leadership ownership, monitoring, and evaluation. Established to coordinate and strategize daycare expansion efforts previously led solely by the government, the initiative prioritizes addressing the needs of the most vulnerable children from disadvantaged households, followed by extending services to all children within the city.
